Hazardous waste - is defined by both the federal and the state of Florida governments as a substance (either solid, liquid, or gas) that poses a danger to human health or the environment. By definition hazardous wastes have one or more of the following characteristics: ignitability, corrosivity, reactivity, and toxicity. These substances are regulated by the state and federal governments from the point of generation through final disposal.
